I was interviewed by Lara Levitan a writer for Newcity, Chicago’s oldest arts weekly newspaper, which appeared in the August 30, 2012 print edition and on the web here. I was also interviewed for Bookcast by Bill Thompson who is a radio journalist currently on the air on a major station in Washington, D.C. I was a Finalist in the Fantasy genre category of the 2012 Indie Excellence Awards for A Greater Monster.

I’m joining several other authors who have been published by the Chicago Coalition of Literature and Photography (CCLAP) on a four day reading event in New York City from May 31st – June 3rd. All shows take place from 7 to 9 pm, with performances generally starting around 8:00.

A Greater Monster, has won a Gold Medal as an “Outstanding Book of the Year” in the 2012 Independent Publisher Book Awards. So say the awards: “These medalists were chosen from our regular entries for having the courage and creativity necessary to take chances, break new ground, and bring about change, not only to the world of publishing, but to our society.”

There were only 10 winners in different categories out of more than 5000 entries.

The competition judges described A Greater Monster as: “Imaginative, explosive and poetic. A real trip!” “A brain-singeing look at humanity at its strangest.” “Dark and edgy, like a Blade Runner for English majors.”
